Description
An impressionist painting by French artist Jean Justin Gabriel (1837-1923) depicting a rural scene with pigs foraging in the foreground beneath verdant summer trees. A cluster of modest farm buildings frames the middle distance, whilst a figure and farm dog also stand within the composition. The work employs soft, impressionistic brushwork, creating a sense of peaceful countryside life. Well presented in an antique Montparnasse frame. Signed lower right. Titled verso. On canvas on stretchers.Condition
Signs of wear consistent with age. There is a small canvas repair visible verso. Light soiling to the surface of the painting and small chips to the frame. The overall condition of the artwork is very good.
