An original 1902 coloured lithograph from a collaboration between the illustrator Lance Thackeray (1869-1916) and the artist Lionel Edwards (1878-1966). Entitled 'By Order of the Owner', the inscription reads 'Lot 1: Kitty, Chestnut Mare, Property of a Lady, Very Fast.' Additional information below the print reads 'Copyright 1902, Published by Hills & Co. Ltd, London, England'. Signed in the plate to the lower left corner, with a taupe mount and a thin black frame.
This print, of two gentlemen and a lady examining a horse, is likely to have been very progressive in 1902 as the lady is joining the man in smoking a cigarette and drinking champagne.
Signed in the plate. On wove.In good condition. There is some light surface dirt and small white marks to the mount, as shown. There is also a small stain in the upper left quadrant of the print. The frame has some scuffing.
