Description
A very fine portrait of a man with large cap and red neckerchief, in need of restoration. Label to the reverse from the New English Art Club dates to the early 20th century. The artist Kitty Henley, gives her address as 9 Oxford Square, London. The original title has been scratched out and replaced with 'Apache', referring to the French term for a street ruffian. ; Monogrammed. On board. On board.Condition
There are various surface marks to the substrate and minor areas of flaking paint. There are numerous losses to the edges and corners of the board. Inspection under UV light shows no sign of restoration. The surface could benefit from a cleaning.
