Julian Halsby RBA (b.1948) is a British artist, lecturer, and author. Born in London, he attended Highgate School before studying History of Art at Emmanuel College, Cambridge. He then joined the staff of Croydon College of Art, lecturing in the History of Art and Design, and rose to become Senior Lecturer and Head of the Conservation Department. During the 1980s, Julian ran Highgate Gallery with his wife, Miranda, specialising in late 19th century paintings and Modern British, in particular the work of painters from the New English Art Club. He is also a practising artist and has written several books. He is an elected member of the Royal Society of British Artists.
