Description

An intriguing scene painted in subtle watercolours by the well-respected artist Joy Parsons (1913-2012), depicting a hatted angler fishing on the river, perfectly framed by the imposing arches of an old stone bridge. The painting is signed to the lower right-hand corner. Beautifully presented in a toned swept rail frame with corner and centre ornaments. Glazed. On fibrous brown paper.

Artist Biography

Joy Parsons (1913 - 2012) studied at the Royal College of Art, was a member of the Society of Wildlife Artists (S.WL.A) and the Society of Lady Artists. She also held a Fellowship with the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA). As well as for her art, Joy was also widely known for her numerous publications in the book world having written various books about painting and drawing.
