A view across heathland beneath a cloudy sky. Presented glazed in a clean white mount and a distressed gilt-effect wooden frame. Signed to the lower-left edge. On watercolour paper.

Artist Biography

Joseph Knight (1837-1909) was a Manchester-born painter. He began work as a photographer before studying art at classes run by the Manchester Academy of Fine Arts. He subsequently moved to North Wales to pursue his painting career and exhibited regularly at the RCamA, RE, RA, and RI. Walker also showed at the Walker's Gallery, London, and at Manchester Art Gallery.
