Liverpool born artist who attended Liverpool Academy of Arts which at that time offered tuition, before moving to Maidenhead in Berkshire. A painter of landscapes, genre and animals subjects in both oil and watercolour he showed at Agnew's, Dudley Gallery, Grosvenor Gallery, MAFA, RI, RA, ROI, Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool, YUA and was elected RI in 1898. Examples of his work are in the collections of Torre Abbey Museum, the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool, Williamson Art Gallery, Birkenhead, Wycombe Museum and Lytham St. Annes Art Collection.
