John McDougal (1857-1941) - Original 1894 Gouache. With gum Arabic. Listed and Royal Society exhibited artist. Finely presented in a washline mount measuring (36cm x 50cm). Signed and dated. On wove. Condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration to the very edges of the page and very small losses to the corners. John McDougal was a Liverpudlian watercolourist born in 1857 best know for his coastal landscapes. He exhibited his works at the Royal Academy, The Royal Society of British Artists and the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour between 1877 – 1903
