John Henry Amshewitz R.B.A. - Original 1925 Aquatint. With etching. From a collection of etchings and aquatints previously owned by English antiquarian scholar and print collector Christopher Lennox-Boyd (1942 – 2012). Signed and dated and inscribed. On wove. Two small indentations to paper near bottom side.

Amshewitz, John Henry (1882 - 1942). Born Ramsgate, England, 1882. Amshewitz studied at the Art Academy in Edinburgh, at the RA Schools under John Singer Sergeant, and was elected to the RBA in 1914. He was considered a South African artist, even though he only lived in SA from 1916 to 1922, and again from 1936 until his death in 1942.
