A fine early 20th Century (c.1940) landscape in Impressionist oil, showing a verdant landscape with rolling green hills under a blue sky. The artist has initialed and indistinctly inscribed to the lower right corner. The painting has been presented in a 20th Century bird's eye maple veneer frame with gilt slip. On canvas board.Condition
In remarkably good condition given its age with only very minor surface dirt. The frame has some light scuffing.

Artist Biography
Painter who was educated at Cambridge University, then studied at Westminster School of Art, 1926–9, with Walter Bayes. Showed at RBA, RCamA, Paris Salon and Lincolnshire Artists’ Society, sometimes just signing work J B. Lincoln’s Usher Gallery holds his works: A Break in the Clouds, November Sky and Humberstone Foreshore, all presented by Sir Hickman Bacon in the 1930s. Lived at Grimsby, Lincolnshire
