The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration with a scuff to the lower third. The frame has considerable losses to the gilt molding at the outer edge and inner window.

Johann Nus(s)biegel , also Nußbiegel (1750-1829 was a German draftsman and engraver in Nuremberg.
Nussbiegel was the son and student of the Nuremberg engraver and publisher Georg Paul Nussbiegel (1713-1776). He deepened his skills in perspective drawing with the architect and building inspector Daniel Stettner and with Johann Justin Preissler at the Nuremberg Academy of Painters , of which he later became a member. He made several sheets for the works Physiognomische Fragmente, to promote human knowledge and philanthropy and Jesus Messiah, or The Future of the Lord by Johann Caspar Lavater . He made the work Schwerin's Death in the Battle of Prague based on a template by Berger. His diligence and accuracy were praised.[3] The later engraver Christoph Wilhelm Bock apprenticed with him.
