Painter, teacher, potter and printmaker born at Oundle. He studied at Lancaster College of Art and London University Institute of Education. He taught for many years and left the profession in 1967 to take up painting and lithography full-time. He relocated with his wife the late artist Brenda King to St. Ives in 1985. King exhibited at the Century Gallery, Henley on Thames and has work in the Tate Gallery.
