Description
A pretty, floral still life on canvas board with an unusual undulating textured weave. The painting shows a blue jug filled with pink, blue and white hydrangeas. There is a small dish next to the vase. The artist has used an impressionistic style with a light, pastel, summary palette to create a very decorative piece.
The painting is signed and presented in a complimentary rustic wood frame with brass detailing.
On canvas board.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including minor discolouration. There is a light scratch to the paint in the upper right quadrant. The frame is in fine condition.

Artist Biography
Originally from Dax , he moved to Rouen after the war in 1947.
Professor then painter and illustrator, he made many exhibitions, the main ones taking place at the Menuisement gallery, a former gallery renowned for having exhibited and sold a canvas by Eugène Boudin and many other great names of painters in Rouen.
He has a very abstract style, but he is also known for his still lifes of flowers and animals.
