A vibrant and accomplished oil painting by the French artist Jean-Eric Turquin. With clear modernist influences, the artist has depicted a rural landscape with two figures sat on an arch-bridge, gazing at the distant mountains. Signed to the lower right-hand corner. There is an exhibition leaflet attached on the reverse. Well-presented in a velour and gilt-effect slip and in a distressed, gilt-effect frame. On canvas on stretchers.

Condition

The painting is in fine condition, with minor surface marks. Some small scuffs to the slip and frame.

Artist Biography

Jean-Eric Turquin was born in Champagne, Reims in 1950. He has lived in the Provence area since 1976, where he has found inspiration for many of his works. Turquin has exhibited extensively in France, however, his works can also be found in many private collections all over the world.
