A fine 19th Century restrike of the 18th Century engraving showing the Biblical scene of the Prodigal Son, surrounded by animals, praying on his knees. This is one of the plates from the 'Houghton Gallery' volumes. There is an inscription at the lower edge with the artist's names and publishing details with a coat of arms and the date. On wove.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and light foxing. The original plate lines are in tact. The original sheet has been cropped.
