Description
A wonderfully rustic and impressive early 20th Century oil scene showing a quaint fishing village on the shore of an estuary in Ross, Northern Scotland, with a church at the top of the small hill. Several boats carry fishermen on the water as they collect their crayfish pots and nets under a blushing pink sunset. The painting has a lovely serene atmosphere. The artist has signed to the lower right and inscribed the title to the lower edge. The painting has been presented in a substantial gilt frame. On canvas.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. There is some craquelure to the surface. Light scuffing to the frame and some areas of restoration.
