Heron had a clear passion for celebrating the rural Scottish way of life in joyful detail, and exhibited at the Glasgow Institute and the Royal Scottish Academy of Art and Architecture.
James Heron was a Scottish artist who lived in Edinburgh, and painted many Fife scenes, harbours, farmyard scenes and landscapes around Scotland. Heron exhibited at the Glasgow Institute and the Royal Scottish Academy of Art and Architecture, known as the RSA. We acquired this expansive collection of charming Highland views, many of which have recognisable inscribed locations. Heron had a clear passion for celebrating the rural Scottish way of life in joyful detail.
