Description

An exquisite watercolour after the self portrait of Sir Joshua Reynolds in the Council Rooms at the Royal Academy. These details have been signed and inscribed verso with the location 'Maidstone, Kent'. On wove laid to wooden board. The artist shows great skill in their delicate rendering of Reynolds portrait, paying particular attention to the facial features. Well presented in a gilt frame.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. There are some losses to the plaster on the gilt frame and surface scratches, as shown in photos.
