A striking still life study by Danish artist Jakob Madsen (1887–1965). The arrangement features a blue enamel coffee pot, golden marrow, and orchard fruits set within a busy kitchen interior. Rendered in an early modernist style with loose, Post-Impressionist brushwork in an appealing palette. Well presented in a gilt-effect frame. Monogrammed to the lower left and dated 1932. On canvas.
Condition
A light, even patina of age is present across the surface of the artwork. Inspection under UV light reveals no apparent restoration. The frame has minor wear including slight separation at the mitre joints. The artwork is in very good condition for its age.
