A beautiful late 19th-century still life depicting autumnal leaves intertwined around artist's brushes. A fallen green goblet and books rest beneath a terracotta vase. The composition employs a rich, earthy palette of browns, golds, and deep greens, rendered with confident brushwork that captures the textural qualities of each element. Well presented in a handsome gilt frame with C-scrolling to the profile. The work bears the signature 'R. Werner' in the lower left and is dated 1888. On board.
