The sea laps gently upon the beach as a couple carry their fishing rods along the rocky shoreline in this tranquil coastal scene. Several figures can be made out on the rugged outcrop of land on the lefthand side, and seabirds can be seen in the distance. Signed and dated to the lower right. Well presented in a gilt frame with a white slip. On canvas on stretchers.
Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and craquelure. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration. Light wear to the frame.
