A late 19th century oil painting depicting a calm and serene view of a river by a wooded landscape, signed to the lower right corner and presented in a simple gilt frame. Although there is little biographical information about the artist, auction records show that a painting of a similar style by Dyce titled ' Campagne a Giverny' sold for €1700 at auction in Monaco in 2016. Signed. On canvas on stretchers.
Condition
There is some overall yellowing to the varnish and light scattered craquelure, typical for a picture of this age. Very small area of paint loss to upper right corner. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration. Some staining and scuffing to frame.
