A delightful and well-detailed 1897 Venice canal scene, depicting St Marks from the lagoon, by the artist J. Bowen. In a traditional style, this work captures the famous Italian light, washing over the Renaissance palaces of the waterfront. St Mark's Campanile can be seen in the centre. Signed and dated. On canvas on stretchers.
Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration of the varnish. There is a very small impact mark to the canvas to the right side of the sky. Scuffing around the edges.
