A fine late 19th Century French School equine oil, showing a group of handsome young studs in a paddock. The artist has signed to the lower right and the painting has been presented in a fine early 20th Century oak frame with gilt inner window. There is a Colour Merchants label at the reverse, for the French dispenser of artist's supplies, Gustave Sennelier. This dates this painting circa 1900 (Sennelier opened his first shop in 1887). The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration.
