This lino print shows the Yule maiden, shielding herself from the cold Winter winds while holding an hourglass, representing the shortened days. On her hand is the mark of Yule, the Pagan period of Winter.The artist has signed and numbered (11/50) to the lower left corner. On paper.

Artist Biography

Isabelle Mulvany studied Fine Art specialising in sculpture at Central Saint Martins, although her draftsmanship overcame her sculptural practice and she is currently focused on portraiture and figurative illustration.

Isabelle relishes folklore symbolism and iconography, which she works into many of her portraits, adding nods to lunar phenomena, omens and other such mythology.
