Inge Clayton FRSA (1942-2010) - Signed 1989 Graphite Drawing The Visit
Description
An interesting graphite study by admired Austrian artist Inge Clayton. It seems this may have been a preparatory study for a larger triptych artwork, a traditionally religious format. The title also references Willem de Kooning's own 'The Visit'. The abstract expressionist's was known for his violent depictions of the female nude and this piece is no exception. It is clear both these themes were adopted by Clayton and would inspire her final artwork. Signed and dated and inscribed. On wove.Condition
There is some slight smudging to the graphite medium and the lower edge has been torn unevenly. Otherwise the condition is fine.
