An authentic Miniature Painting of the 'Ragamala' series painted by the traditional artists of Rajasthan. 'Ragas' have their roots in the ancient Hindu scripture of the 'Vedas'.
In the 14th century A.D. a special field of art was created for the Ragas called the 'Ragamala Baramasa' 'Siyah Qualam' style under the Persian influence. Meanwhile in the field of Indian music the 'Raginis' - the consorts of Ragas evolved as a special class of melodies.
The Ragamala paintings are the imaginitive personification of the Raginis in the form of a beautiful woman in various moods, seasons and colours as per the interpretation, imagination and depiction of the traditional artists of India.
