A charming still life composition depicting an arrangement of peaches, a slice of melon, and a sprig of leaves. The work is rendered in a loose, impressionist style using muted pastel tones. Signed to the upper right. Well presented in a swept gilt frame. On canvas on stretchers.Condition
The condition is very good. Slight discolouration. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration. Scuffs and losses to the frame.

Artist Biography
Ina Hooft (1894-1994) was a Dutch still life painter. She studied at the Royal Academy of Art in the Hague, Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris, and the Eerste Nederlandse Vrije Studio. Hooft's work was included in the 1939 exhibition 'Onze Kunst van Heden' (Our Art of Today) at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, and she was a member of Arti et Amicitiae and Pulchri Studio. Examples of her work are held by the Kunstmuseum Den Haag and the Rijksmuseum.
