Hugh Church was a London artist born in Haggerston in 1865. He attended St. Saviour's School, Ardingly Sussex. Church married a Jane Helene Wilson in 1892 but she died some time prior to 1901 when he was living at 75 Albert Mansions, South Lambeth and is described as a painter and sculptor. They had a daughter Annie Helene Church born about 1893.
