An atmospheric mid-20th century oil by British painter Hugh Boycott Brown (1909–1990), depicting the London skyline in soft, luminous brushwork. Boycott Brown was a member of the Wapping Group of Artists, the celebrated circle of plein-air painters devoted to the River Thames, as well as the Royal Society of Marine Artists (RSMA). Unsigned. Original label verso. Beautifully presented in an ornate gilt frame. On panel.

Condition

Maintains a desirable character and patina. Signs of wear consistent with age. Fine craquelure observed throughout. Minor surface marks and abrasions. Some splitting to the surface of the panel. Light surface discolouration throughout. The frame has minor surface wear and scuffs. Small chips and indentations to the frame. The artwork is in very good condition for its age.
