Hewley Mortimer Baines - Original 19th Century India Ink. Pencil with sepia ink wash. Signed in pencil to the lower right. Signed. On wove. Condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. Small foxing spots and areas of surface dirt. Shaped corners.

Hewley Mortimer Baines was married to May Harrison and succeeded his father Hewley John Baines in taking over the Bell Hall estates in 1830. The Baines family owned Bell Hall since 1710 after it changes hands from the Hewley family.
