Henry Macbeth-Raeburn (1860-1947), after Sir Henry Raeburn (1756-1823) mezzotint, 'The Macnab'. Signed in pencil 'H. Macbeth-Raeburn' to the lower left. Published 1918. Presented in a large black moulded frame with an internal gilt window and a wash line mount. On paper.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration to the print and wash-line mount. Light marks and chips noted to the frame.

Artist Biography
Henry MacBeth Raeburn was a painter and printmaker, son of the artist Norman Macbeth (1821-1888). Born in Helensburgh, Scotland, Henry studied at Edinburgh University and art at the Royal Scottish Academy Schools and at Académie Julian in Paris. He was elected a member of the RE in 1905 and of the RA in 1933 and served on both their councils. He was a member and exhibitor at the Ipswich Art Club 1943-45 and also exhibited at the ROI, RSA, Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool and at the RI and elsewhere. He was a member of the Chelsea Arts Club and his work is in the GAC. He was the husband of Marjorie May Bacon.
