A fine watercolour portrait of a young lady with flowers in her hair. Signed and dated to the lower right. Presented in a swept frame with an oval washline mount. Acquired as a pair, the companion piece is also available on our website (sr858). On paper.

Artist Biography

Henry Edrington Hobson was the son of the artist Henry Hobson of Bath, who was a topographical etcher. Hobson exhibited at the Royal Academy between 1857 and 1866. He married the portrait watercolourist Ada Vinson Hardy. Together they had five children, who also became artists.
