Henry Deacon Hillier Parker was an artist born in 1858. He lived in London and studied at the St. Martin’s School of Art before starting work as an illustrator. Parker illustrated for the Illustrated London News but by the age of 23 he had become known as a landscape painter. He was known for his paintings of the South East of England, in Surrey, Sussex and Kent as well as views of the Thames.
