A tranquil watercolour painting with gouache details by the German and Swiss artist Helga von Cramm, depicting a scene in Lake Geneva. Signature and title to the lower left-hand corner. Presented in a cream card mount and in a wooden frame with an inner gilt-effect detail. On watercolour paper.


The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and minor foxing. Light marks to the mount and very small scuffs to the frame.

Artist Biography

Baroness Helga von Cramm (1840-1919) was a German and Swiss painter, illustrator and graphic artist. Cramm exhibited extensively in the United Kingdom, including places such as the Society of Women Artists, Royal Scottish Academy, Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours, Dudley Gallery, Fine Art Society, Glasgow Institute, Grosvenor Gallery, Royal Hibernian Academy of Arts, and Royal Society of British Artists.
