The condition of the print is very good. There is one small graphite mark to the lower right corner.

Harold Sayer was an etcher and printmaker, born in Isleworth, Middlesex. He studied graphic art, first at Willesden College of Art, 1930-33 and then at the RCA, 1933-36. After completing his studies with a Pedagogical year at Goldsmiths' College, he commenced his teaching career at Christ's College, Finchley in 1938. This was interrupted by war service as a Meteorological Officer in the Fleet Air Arm, after which he returned to teaching, eventually becoming Head of the Design Department at St. Paul's College, Cheltenham, 1948-76. He held numerous exhibitions, and was a regular exhibitor at the RA, RWA and RE. Sayer was elected a Fellow of the RE and RWA and in the year of his death held a solo exhibition at the Upton Lodge Gallery, Tetbury.
