Signed and dated to the lower-left edge, partially obscured by the mount. Also inscribed 'J.S.K.' above the signature, possibly the initials of the sitter who could be a relation of the artist. The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration, primarily to the upper-left quadrant. There are some marks to the mount and some scuffs and scratches to the frame.
