Description
Two working horses stand side by side in their harness, heads lowered and close together, in this gentle equine portrait. Gans captures small details throughout, from the brass fittings on the bridles to the iron tethering ring in the foreground, giving the scene a well-observed character. The painting is well presented in a vintage gilt-effect frame. Signed to the lower right and dated 1951. On canvas.Condition
A light, even patina of age is present across the surface of the artwork. Inspection under UV light reveals no apparent restoration. The frame has minor surface wear and scuffs. Overall, the artwork is in very good condition for its age.
