An exquisite early 20th Century engraving from the Granger Collection (A historical collection of engravings documenting scenes from ancient Greek vases), published in 1812. This particular scene shows chariot rider in his vehicle, steering his horses as a warrior stands beside them, preparing to hurl a spear. The engraving his been finished with crisp traditional Greek key edging. The engraving is unsigned and presented in a gilt frame with card mount. On wove.
Condition
The engraving is in remarkable condition given its age with only minor discoloration. The original plate lines are intact beneath the mount. The frame has some surface scuffing to the gilt.
