Frederick II (1712-1786), King of Prussia from 1740 to 1786, is depicted here in miniature. A brilliant military campaigner, Frederick II greatly enlarged Prussia's territories and made Prussia the foremost military power in Europe. He was also a patron of the arts and the Enlightenment. Beautifully presented in an antique gilt frame. Indistinctly inscribed verso. Unsigned. On card.
