This nineteenth-century oil by an unknown German artist depicts soldiers outside their barracks, set within a serene landscape bathed in golden evening light. All dressed in black and red uniforms, one practices his aim while another rides a horse. Indistinctly monogrammed to the lower left. Well presented in a gilt frame.
Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age, including some discolouration and craquelure. Areas of overpainting. Marks and scuffs to the frame, with some repainting to the corners.
