A vast cargo vessel stands imposingly in the centre of this busy harbour scene by Dutch painter Gerard Wiegman (1875-1964). The ship is surrounded by a hive of activity; workers load crates while barges transport goods and supplies. Signed to the lower right. Well presented in an ornate gilt frame. On canvas on stretchers.
Condition
Overall the condition is very good. Some discolouration to the paint. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration. The frame is in good condition.
