Description

This evocative print is part of a series of twenty-two created by Georges Rouault between 1918 and 1928. The series was commissioned by art dealer Ambroise Vollard to accompany 'Reincarnations of Père Ubu', his own continuation of 'Ubu Roi', the groundbreaking avant-garde play by Alfred Jarry (1873-1907). Signed with initials and dated in plate. Well presented behind glass in a black metal frame. On paper.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and light foxing to the paper. Light wear to the frame, including some scuffing.
