Artist Biography

Anne Rees-Mogg (1924–1984) was a British artist, experimental filmmaker, and educator whose work spanned multiple creative disciplines. Best known for her 16mm films and her influential role as a teacher at the Chelsea School of Art, she was also an accomplished printmaker, producing original prints, etchings, and drawings that remain highly collectible today. After studying at Bristol Art School and the Central School of Arts and Crafts, she went on to become a passionate and dedicated educator, first at the Regent Street Polytechnic from 1951 and then at the Chelsea School of Art from 1964 until her death in 1984. A devoted champion of artists' filmmaking, she served as both Chair and Director of the London Film-makers' Co-operative from 1981 to 1984.
