George Pycock Everett Green (fl. 1840-1893) - 1846 Pastel Three Siblings
Description
A heartwarming portrait of three young children, hugging and smiling in a joyous composition. The artist has captured the rosy softness of the sibling's cheeks and lips and the shine in their delicate curls. The artist has signed, inscribed and dated to the lower right edge. The drawing is handsomely presented in its original mid 19th Century bird's eye maple frame with beautiful form. The frame boasts an arched internal gilt inner window and glazing. A truly fantastically framed triple portrait. On wove.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and light foxing across the surface. There is minor undulation to the paper at the corners where is has been stretched in the frame. The frame has a loss to the upper right edge and one to the lower left edge. There is general scuffing and scraping across the surface, typical for its age.
