Artist Biography

George de Paris was a prolific watercolourist and active member of Brighton society in the late 19th century. He was best known for his work establishing the Brighton Art Gallery, and for his “hobby of a lifetime” — a collection of over 1,200 paintings documenting the architecture of Sussex parish churches between c. 1850 and 1905.
