George Cruikshank - Set of 8 Original 1848 Engraving. An 8 page cautionary cartoon which tells the story of the downfall of an alcoholic to ruin and madness. It was extremely successful, and was turned into a novel, waxworks and a popular play. On 8 separate sheets. The first sheet is on the reverse of the title page. Generally in very good condition; plate vii has a small tear at the upper edge and some brown stains as shown; plate viii has three repaired tears at the lower edge.
