A beautifully atmospheric oil landscape from the late 19th Century. The scene shows a gentle bend in a river, with verdant banks under a blushing sunset sky. The painting holds much of the balmy atmosphere felt on long Summer evenings in the countryside. The artist has signed to the lower left and the painting has been attractively presented in a maple wood frame with soft bolection profile. On canvas.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. There is a small area of restoration at the upper left quadrant. The frame has minor losses to the veneer at the upper left and lower right.
