Description

A trio of graphite studies of male figures and market stall. Each has its own unique charm and one has the year 1916 inscribed on it. All are unsigned. On wove.

Condition

There are some small creases to all works, with the largest piece having a central vertical crease from the fold in the paper. They have all slightly discoloured and have minor foxing.

Artist Biography

Frederick P. Cooke (1896-1978) served in the army during the Great War, later becoming a dental surgeon like his father. Cooke was interested in music, photography and painting, especially figurative and portraiture. He was a member of the Manchester Graphics Club, the Warrington Art Society and the Photographic Society.
