Description

A fine landscape depicting Braubach in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, with the striking Marksburg castle perched on a hill. Presented glazed in a wash line mount and a distressed gilt-effect wooden frame with beaded detailing to the inner edge. Signed with monogram to the lower-right corner. Inscribed with the title, misspelled 'Branbach', and name of the artist to the lower edge of the mount. There is a label on the verso along with what is presumably a photocopy of the verso of the painting, inscribed with the signature and location. On wove.

There is some slight discolouration and some minor scuffs to the frame. Overall in very good condition for a picture of this age.
